Wondering what to do with left over dal? Bored to eat but guilty to waste it? Here is an offbeat recipe that you can try with leftover dal/rasam 🙂
Here is the recipe to turn those left over rasams into nice aromatic flavor filled Rotis 🙂
I fondly call these “Dal Roti” 🙂
INGREDIENTS:
Left over dal / rasam – I used some left over udupi-style-saaru-rasam
Wheat flour – 2 to 3 cups
Salt – as per taste
METHOD:
In a large mixing bowl, add the wheat flour and salt. Mix well.
**(Make sure you add very litte salt since the rasam also will have the salt in it)
Now add the required amount of rasam to the flour to make it into a soft pliable dough.
Heat a tava / flat fry pan.
Take a small ball of dough, roll it into flat thin rotis/ chapathis.
Bake the rotis / chapathis on medium heat on both sides. You can use some oil while frying them.
Serve and relish hot dal rotis with some raita, pickle and raw onions 🙂
