Gobi Paratha

Hot parathas, pickle in the corner of the plate and a chilled bowl of curd- Now that’s what I call a perfect dinner 🙂 

Parathas are a hot favourite in my house. My son and husband are a great fan of parathas. It’s more or a less a staple dish every week in my house. 

Here is the recipe for Gobi Paratha:

INGREDIENTS:

For the Dough:

Whole wheat  Flour – 2 cups

Hot water or Buttermilk – as much as needed for making the chapathi dough

Salt – as per taste

Oil – 1 tbsp

For the Gobi stuffing:

Cauliflower – 1 medium size – grated

Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

Red chilli powder – 1 tsp

Garam Masala – ½ tsp

Salt – as per taste

METHOD:

To prepare the Roti dough:

In a large bowl, add the wheat flour and using water or buttermilk make the dough. Knead well and Keep it aside

To prepare the Stuffing:

In a wide bottomed pan, heat 2 tbsp oil and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the grated cauliflower, garam masala, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt.

Mix well and allow it to cook till done.

Now the Gobi stuffing is ready.

Method to make the Gobi parathas:

Roll the dough into a small circle, place 1 tbsp of the stuffing, close from all sides properly and roll it out evenly.

Heat a tava or a skillet and bake the paratha using some butter or ghee on both sides.

Now your Gobi paratha is ready. Serve hot with some pickle, Curd and some oven roasted veggies – with some basic spices.
