Festive seasons are always fun. Festivals, food, fun and family is a great package together.
Laddus, jamuns and modaks are an integral part of any Indian festival. Be it Ugadi or Deepavali / Diwali or janmashtami or ganesh chaturthi, all kinds of sweets are made for these festivals.
One such sweet is the Besan Laddu. My mum makes close to 8 to 10 varieties of laddus for Janmashtami. My favourite of the lot is the Besan Laddu.
I wanted to make Besan Laddu for Janmashtami in a quick and easy method. So i tried the microwave method. And oh!Boy, it turned perfect 🙂
Quick, easy and super tasty 🙂 Trust me, there is absolutely no compromise on the taste!

Chopped nuts – cashews, almonds (optional)
METHOD:
In a microwave safe dish, add ½ cup of ghee and heat for about 30 seconds.
Add the 2 cups of besan / gram flour to the ghee and mix well.
Place the mixture in the microwave at 100% power for 2 mins – stirring after a minute.
At this point add the chopped nuts (optional ) and microwave at 100% power for 1 minute – checking every 10 to 15 seconds to make sure that the besan does not get burnt.
Once done, remove the dish and allow to cool down. Then add powdered sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well.
At this point, if needed add a little more ghee if you are not able mould the laddus in the right shape.
