We live in an age where everything is instant and immediate. Somedays, inspite of all the planning, you fall short of making the necessary arrangements for a hearty breakfast. On days like this is when instant breakfast options can be a boon.
Today’s recipe is an easy to make instant recipe that is high on taste. It’s a great option for those who want to include vegetables as a part of their breakfast. The cabbage and peas addition to the batter adds a whole new twist. Do give this a try!

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 15-20 minutes
Makes: 20-22
INGREDIENTS:
Shredded Cabbage – 1 cup
Peas – fresh or frozen – 1/2 cup
Green chillies – 2 to 3
Ginger – 1/2 inch
Curry leaves – few
Yogurt or curd – 1 cup
Water – 1 cup
Idli Rava – 1 cup
Baking Soda – 1/4 tsp
Salt – as per taste
Oil – for shallow frying
METHOD:
In a large mixing bowl, add the shredded cabbage, peas, green chillies, ginger and curry leaves. Mix well.
Now add the Idli Rava, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
Next, add the yogurt and water. Mix well
The batter should be a little thicker than the dosa batter. You can add more water if you want to adjust the consistency.
Keep aside for 5 minutes.
Heat the appe pan or the ebelskiver pan. Smear oil in each mould.
Pour the paddu batter, cover and cook on medium flame.
After 3-4 minutes, flip each paddu and cook on the other side till done.
Serve hot with chai or enjoy with some coconut chutney.
