Sometimes it’s the simplest dishes that are the tastiest. One such quick, easy and delectable dish is Peas pulao.
With the electric pressure cooker, it’s a lot easier now 🙂
Here is the recipe for Peas Pulao 🙂
RECIPE:

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes (including sauté, cooking and NPR time)
Serves: 3 people
INGREDIENTS:
Basmati Rice – 1.5 cups
Onion – 1
Green Chillies – 2 or 3
Garlic – 1 to 2 cloves
Mint Leaves – 3 to 4
Salt – as per taste
For Tempering:
Ghee – 2 tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
Peppercorns – 1/2 tsp
Cloves – 4 to 5
Bay leaf – 1
Cinnamon – 1/2 inch
METHOD:
Turn on the Instant pot in Sauté mode. Heat 2 tsp of ghee.
Add the ingredients mentioned under ‘For tempering’ section. Sauté till done.
Now add the chopped onions, green chillies and garlic. Sauté till the onions are translucent.
Add a cup of frozen or fresh peas. Mix well before adding the salt.
Now add the rice and 1.5 cups to 2 cups of water. Mix well.
Lastly add
Turn off sauté mode and close the Instant pot lid. Cook on Manual for 7 minutes NPR (Natural Pressure Release).
*Manual – High pressure – 7 Minutes – NPR
Once done, serve hot with dal or raita.
Did you mean to say just 2 cups of water for 1.5 cups of rice or that the water to rice ratio is 2:1?

The instant pot cooking takes less water, if you are cooking in a normal pressure cooker or a rice cooker then adjust the water according (1:2) but if you are using an instant pot electric cooker then for flavored rice with veggies in it, the rice should be about 1:1 ratio since the veggies leave some water content too….HTH!
