An after meal dessert is a craving that most of us have. One such day was yesterday when I really wanted to have a dessert. When I opened my fridge all that I could find were slices of fresh pineapple.
Will a plain pineapple satisfy a sweet tooth? Not really! I was in no mood for any kind of elaborate cooking just to fulfil my craving.
So I decided to whip up something real quick 🙂 The result – BROILED PINEAPPLE WITH BROWN SUGAR 🙂
When I made this and sat down to eat, my son who is a very picky eater and who had earlier refused to eat the broiled pineapple said “Mommie, this smells really good and looks like a candy, so I think I want to try a bite :)” .
He took a bite and totally loved it 🙂
Do give this a try – a healthy option for the sweet tooth in you 🙂
Here comes the recipe for Broiled Pineapple…
INGREDIENTS:
Pineapple Slices – 2
Brown sugar – 2 to 3 tsp
Butter / ghee – 1/2 tsp (to coat the pan)
METHOD:
Preheat the oven in the broiler mode.
Coat the oven safe baking dish with ghee / butter, place the pineapple slices and sprinkle some brown sugar generously.
Broil in the below rack for about 5-7 minutes (or more if you want more browning).
