There are days when many of us crave for something beyond the staple rice and chapatis. Rotti’s are quite popular in Karnataka as a healthy and filling meal option. As kids when my mum used to make akki rotti at home, my sister and I would finish it in a matter of minutes.
Rotti’s are a hot favorite food in my house – any kind – Akki rotti (rice flour), Raagi rotti, Rava rotti and sabudana rotti 🙂
Here is the recipe for Sabudana Rotti:
RECIPE:

In a large mixing bowl, add the soaked and drained sabudana, mashed potatoes, green chillies paste, coriander leaves, cumin seeds and salt. Mix well.
Make a soft pliable dough by adding a small amount of water at intervals.
Cover the dough and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
Take a piece of aluminium foil big enough to pat a roti, smear oil.
Take a ball sized dough and pat into a medium thick rotti.
Heat a cast iron pan, smear oil.
Place the rotti with aluminium foil facing up.
Cook for a while and then remove the foil. Flip it and cook on both sides till done.
Serve hot with coconut chutney or hot ketchup.
