Butter Cookies (With Wheat flour)

Baking is not something that comes natural to me. After a lot of trials and experiments, I now comfortably bake a few cookies, muffins and some basic cakes.

Of the few items that I bake – cupcakes and cookies are something which most of us at home love and it gets gobbled up sooner compared to cakes.

My son does not have a sweet tooth except for chocolates. So even the muffins/cookies I bake has lesser amount of sugar compared to the store bought ones 🙂

Here is my recipe for Butter cookies using Wheat Flour…

INGREDIENTS:

Wheat Flour – 2 cups

Sugar – 3/4 cup (Or adjust according to the sweetness required)

Baking powder – 1 tsp

Salt – 1/2 tsp

Unsalted Butter – 8 tbsp

Milk – 1 cup

METHOD:

Preheat the oven to 400º F.  Grease/line a cookie tray.

In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients – wheat flour, sugar, baking powder and salt

Now Cube the chilled butter into the dry ingredients and mix well. The flour should have a crumbly texture.

Next, add in the milk and mix well. The mixture will look more like a batter and not like a dough. This yields in crunchy yet soft cookies. If you want a crispier cookie, reduce the milk and make a dough which can be rolled out and shaped into cookies.

Spoon in the cookie batter into the tray leaving enough space between each cookie.

Bake at 400ºF for 15-16 minutes. (Time may vary based on oven temperatures)

    1. Hi Rashmi,

Thanks for visiting my blog! These cookies stay good for about 7-10 days in an airtight container. But trust me, these are so delicious that they will vanish in just couple or days 😜

      Hope this helps !
